The modeling work I did here includes the crown, hair and dress. However the dress is just an extruded shape based off the body mesh asset I got online. The texture work is a mixture of collecting assets online and modifying them in photoshop. This includes the face texture.
Challenges with this project was working with hair. It's the first time I experimented with Maya's Nhair Physics. I initially planned to use Xgen but ran into some technical issues regarding the PC I was using at the time.
Neko was a comprehensive class project, the model work in particular was based off of a few sketches we drew out. Neko's design is inspired by Japanese culture. The idea was to capture something that looked "Cute/Kawaii", that provides comfort to whomever its interacting with it. Research and sketching was collaborated with Julia and Lyndon
This robot was designed for a group project during the beginnings of developing a science fiction comic book. The goal was to create a robot that has been designed by locals of a planet for war. I tried to create something that's bulky yet flexible. I looked into the shapes of athletes and the shapes of muscles in particular. Trying to find a good balance.
Sam was one of my first complicated designs. He was created for a comic book I was working on, the design was very much inspired by a cork screw. The model work does have a number of n-gons but the purpose of this model was to be traced on top of in illustrator.
This was the first human model I made. It was definitely a challenge, I was doing some research on flesh tones but overall I'd say it turned out to be more flat than I had hoped. Hair and Eyes were also a challenge in their own way. I'm mostly happy with how the outfit turned out and hope to do more projects modeling characters in the future.
A head sculpture based on Anthony Mackie as Captain America in "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" This was done using Zbrush
Saw the original video with the voice actors Tom Kenny & Bill Fagerbakke.
Was inspired to create this animation. Character models and environment was created from scratch. The lightsabers were bought on sketchfab.
Project to a year total to make. Total hours not calculated. Took many weeks off over that time, as I started a full time job and at a point two full time jobs.
This is the concept video that launched the Neko project. The class assignment was for groups to develop 3 concept videos based on research. The research being to pick a country, look at its history for the past 100 years and use what you learned design concepts for the next 100 years.
The concept for Neko came from Japan's history of fighting techniques, kawaii culture, robotics and loneliness crisis
An animation I made that explains HCI in a simple way.
The challenge with this project was getting it done in a weekend.
Model work is not mine, this was me experimenting with effects in Maya. Thought of a cool idea to promote the show. I do wish I spent more time animating the characters.
A robot model I made for a comic book (Sam) is used here to do my first tracking shot.
Neko the robot companion is capable of plenty, but for prototyping we focused on its mental health services. This was the conceptualization of what that can be like. The majority of the video is done by me. Excluding the human model. Also the animation work on the phone is done by Lyndon and Julia.
I decided to bring the crown and hair I modeled into Spark, along with the face texture.
This was my first SparkAR project, it was a bit of a learning curve but I managed to get the hang of it in a couple of days. Creating a AR project and publishing it on Instagram was a class project. I decided to create The Vision and to my surprise it gained over 100,000 impressions in under a month. Modeling it for Spark was a challenge mainly because it was my first time seeing how the software works and its limitations.
"Neko's Nest" Is a feature of Neko that allows the user to view the robot companion in AR and assess their level of depression. Based off the the "Beck Depression Inventory" but modified quite a bit. This is a prototype so its not to be used as a way to diagnose yourself. If you have worries regarding your mental health talk to a doctor. The contribution I did in this prototype is all animations and programming. Graphics are done by Julia and Lyndon

This is my first VR project done in unity. It is a concept for a VR hangout space based on the ABC series "Lost". I have yet to decide if I want to upload it somewhere or work some more on it. I did create a brief playthrough and a 360 video for the mean time.
Conan retired from being a late night host and I've never got to see the show live.
So, I recreated the studio. Modeled, textured and baked a light map to reduce the use of lights
when it's eventually imported to VRChat. The map should be available soon.
Made these character models out of scratch, wanted to create some renders.
Thought about creating this silly "Actors On Actors" idea.
This was a group project. We were tasked to research milestones of a country / its relations. My group decided to do it on Japan's relationship with USA. What you read here is a the groups effort in collecting research and writing. However we divided the presentation in 3 ways. The look of how it's presented from 1990 to 2020 is done by myself.
